Highest distinction with the award that accompanied the participation of "AHEPA Maritime Chapter St' Nicholas" in the 24th Annual Regional Conference of AHEPA Hellas, which was held on June 9 and 10, 2023 in beautiful Nafpaktos, where I had the great honor as President of AHEPA Maritime Chapter to receive the "Chapter of the year" award.
For your information, it is the first time that a section has been awarded for the second consecutive time as "Chapter of the year", in the history of Ahepa.
This award reflects the wholehearted actions of the 352 passionate members of the Maritime Chapter, as well as my personal effort to inspire ambitious visions in my team. As in all my ventures as a Human Being and as a Top Executive of Global Shipping, in this too I sought to guide my team in important actions, setting an example myself with my own. Also, this award is a percentage of the people who make up "AHEPA Maritime St' Nicholas", i.e. the size of our Group, which started with 30 members, initially, and within two years reached 352 active members, highlighting the Maritime Chapter as the most populous not only in Greece, but also in the whole world.
I have the pleasure in the Chapter that I lead to include selected and distinguished persons of our society, people who are possessed by the warmth of giving and solidarity, our fellow citizens with important positions in the field of science and entrepreneurship, prominent personalities and distinguished professionals in the field of of shipping and the global business environment, all individuals with diamond ethics and a desire to create and contribute to society.
It should be noted, additionally, that the participation of the "Maritime Chapter St' Nicholas" in the Panhellenic Conference of AHEPA was implemented with a large delegation of Brothers, who took an active part in the work of the Conference.
Of significant importance for the functionality of "AHEPA Maritime St' Nicholas" was the promotion of two Brothers of our Chapter to honorary roles. Specifically, during the Conference, the Vice-President of the "Maritime Chapter St' Nicholas", Mr. Politis Dionysis, was appointed Secretary General of AHEPA HELLAS for the year 2023-2024. And, finally, the Secretary of our Chapter, Mr. Tzanetis Giorgos, was appointed Secretary General of the Conference Organizing Bureau.
This symbolic award, which marks our community's emphasis on noble rivalry and collegial competition, evokes special emotion, great joy and moral commitment for the next important social goals for the members of our Organization and for me personally.
Warm thanks to the former Governor of AHEPA HELLAS, Mr. Varsami Kostas, and to all participants of the Conference for rewarding the work of our dynamic Team.
On this occasion, I wish the new Governor of AHEPA HELLAS, Mr. Christos Karapiperis, as well as the new Board of Directors of the organization, to continue the offer and generous generosity to those in need and to become the driving force of change for the our society that is full of problems and needs.
Everyone's recognition of the rich and multidimensional work we have accomplished in just two years since our initial formation, is another motivation to set the bar of our actions even higher.
By all of us belonging to the honorable Team of Spirit and Altruism we will create a better world! Because the light that shines in us will become the beacon for good deeds, teamwork, kindness, solidarity, giving and love. That is to say, all these which constitute the essence of the value system that AHEPA advocates.
At this point, I would like to thank the brothers of the Ahepa Maritime Chapter, for the trust they have shown me in the last 2 years since the Foundation of the Maritime Chapter. The support and assistance I receive every day is invaluable and guides me every day to strive to fulfill our mission and goals, steering the Maritime Chapter to the path of excellence.
Every action you take creates a ripple, and every ripple can lead to a wave of change. Be proud of your work, brothers, but never rest on your laurels. The world needs you, now more than ever. Go about your mission with conviction, with passion and with unwavering faith in the power of good.
In the great tapestry of life, each thread is integral. Each thread, when woven with love and kindness, strengthens the fabric of society. Your acts of charity are these threads, which strengthen and enrich our world. You're not just members of a fraternity. you are torchbearers of hope, change and a better tomorrow. I urge you to keep this torch burning, to continue weaving the threads of charity and giving.
Together, we can create a world that is good, just and full of love!
