AHEPA Maritime Chapter HJ-45 St' Nicholas made another offer of the highest importance, with the donation of modern medical equipment and consumables to the Polichnitou Health Center in Lesbos.
Moments of emotion and true joy that only selfless giving can give, with the excellent charity event organized by the Maritime Chapter on Friday, April 21, 2023 on the beautiful island of Lesvos, offering a significant amount of medical equipment, as well as consumables to the Polichnitos Health Center .
The ceremony of handing over the medical equipment was honored by the presence of the Ahepa Maritime Chapter, our President, Mr. Dimitrios Matthaiou, the Vice President, Mr. Dionysis Politis, the Director of the Hellenism Committee, Mr. Antonis Kalokairinos and the member of the Education Committee, etc. Alexandros Kelmalis. Also present were the Deputy Mayor of Western Lesvos, Mr. Giorgos Alanis, the Director of the Polichnitou Health Center of Lesvos, Mr. Dimitris Giannarellis, the nursing staff and the Management of the Health Center, as well as a delegation from the local branch of AHEPA Lesvos.
Specifically, the AHEPA Maritime Chapter HJ-45 St' Nicholas offered the Polichnito Health Center the following.
1. Three-channel Cardiograph for cardiograms within the Polichnitos Health Center, so that unnecessary
transfer to the Bostanio Hospital of Mytilene (distance 45 kilometers).
2. Octopus immobilizer strap.
3. STOP head immobilization system, for the safe transport of the injured.
4. Wheeled examination lighting, to replace outdated ones that don't work.
5. Security medicine cabinet, so that all medicines are stored safely and there is no possibility of theft.
6. Electric gauze cutting scissors, to replace an old one that does not work, so that unnecessary transportation to the BOSTANEO Hospital of Mytilene (distance 45 kilometers) is not required.
7. Plenty of materials and consumable preparations
At this point, we would like to warmly thank the Management and the nursing staff of the Polichnitou Health Center of Lesvos, for such a warm welcome. An extremely moving and unique moment where we proved in practice the primary mission of our team, with the unique reward of the smile of these people.
This heartfelt contribution was made in the context of a series of actions of multiple social and charitable giving, which the Maritime Chapter Hj-45 "St' Nicholas" has been carrying out continuously since its establishment, consistently serving the principles and values of the global AHEPA family. Giving is the means to receive all that will make you feel complete.
